“You didn’t talk until you were two,” my mother shared for the zillionth time. I’d heard this story since I was a little girl and it hadn’t aged well. When I was an adult, I had a question. “Mom, weren’t you worried I had an intellectual disability?”

Talking too much on phone calls to friends who now live far away is a problem that I have to really watch! One friend gives me a half hour and that's IT! End of conversation. She has an old phone that she has to actually HOLD. And no e-mails, no internet, a real dinosaur, worse than me!
I have a new friend who talks too much! Worse than me! Makes me know how annoying I can be if it's ME who's talking too much!
I've heard that old folks who talk too much among friends may be going deaf, and they talk so they don't have to strain to hear. I'm surrounded by old folks here in this senior apartment complex. But mostly I see so many folks using those wheeled thingys they hang on to, and walk stooped over. One lady has a motorized scooter and she drives like she's at the Indy 500!
